Tribute to Teachers
Unless you get in teacher’s shoes, you wont know the price
for being a teacher. My father was and is still a teacher; most of my life my
neighbors were teachers and no doubt those nobles educated me. I grew watching
my father retire to bed early because he would be too tired at the end of the
day, I grew up hanging out with mother more often then father because he had to
plan for the next day’s lesson, I reminisce massaging my father’s back because
his back hurt from standing all day long. I recall how my father would break
midnight silence with his cough, he would catch cough quite often because he
had to use chalks all day long.
Despite all those affirmations, I really thought that
teaching job was the easiest; therefore I never cared about this very
profession. Well its not that I disrespected teachers who taught me, I had my
respect for them but guess I really didn’t meant to, I cared but never with my
willing heart, I looked for them but just when I was in need, honestly I took
my teachers for granted despite wide range of roles they played in my life.
Back then, I never anticipated to become teacher . That time teaching profession was the least
I could think of.
However it was all matter of time, eventually I landed up
with this very profession; I am one of them now. It’s been couple of years I
have been teaching and telling you, Teaching job is one the world’s toughest
job. Teaching job demands passions, good
attitude and flexibility. No matter how smartly one get dressed in morning, at
the end of the day one looks too scruffy, lesson planning and assessments are
at peak every time, teaching calls for massive investment of time and the
thirst for learning, teaching and acquiring knowledge remains infinite.
Today I genuinely feel guilty for not acknowledging my
teachers, I feel guilty for taking them for granted, I feel the grief for
teacher whom I went against. Therefor, Today I genuinely want to THANK ALL THE
TEACHERS OUT THERE. Really I couldn’t
have asked for more. Being a teacher has been the best thing ever, it’s simply
priceless and way worthy.
I wouldn’t have known the hardship, barriers and challenges
teachers had to go through if I didn’t become one of those. I got miles to go and
I couldn’t step a mile without thanking those teachers who helped me pave my
destiny.
Thank you for being there, Thank you for lesson taught,
thank you for your time, in nutshell, THANK YOU BIG TIME!! I have genuine
respect for you allJJJ
p.s I am writing these article because I felt it hard, those
words are all true and if you have the slightest doubt, BE A TEACHER, you will
know it.
